The annual School Lane basketball tournament held at the elementary campus is never anything short of a classic! Full of surprises, full of highlights, full of talent. But most importantly filled with fun. From the players to the audience everyone is having a good time.
How it works is there are 5 teams of 6 players (5 required), they all play each other at some point in the tournament, the grade range is from 7-12th grade and everybody gets at the very least 2 chances and 2 games to play! There is a losers bracket and everybody has the fun they were guaranteed. Now it is up to the players to want to win and not go home early in defeat.
This year's tournament (2024) was nothing short of a movie. There was a whole lot of talent on the court and an amazingly invested crowd. Some last minute substitutions within teams needed to be made due to complications, but make no mistake the students put on a classic.
The defending champions (Team PLK) went on an expected 3-0 run during their journey to a 2nd championship game. Team Plk had dominated the court in the prior year, establishing themselves as the team to beat. Their roster filled with talent and experience, they seemed locked in to secure another championship. Basketball is unpredictable, and the tournament proved to be a stage for unexpected twists and turns.

From the tip-off, it was obvious that Team Bruce came to play. With unwavering determination, they matched Team Plk bucket for bucket, refusing to be intimidated by their opponents' experience and odds of winning. Led by their captain, Bruce, Team Bruce showcased a great display of teamwork and skill, executing good passes, sharp shooting, and great defense.
In a crazy turn of events at the School Lane Charter School's annual basketball tournament, the reigning champions, Team PLK, faced an unexpected defeat against the underdogs, Team Bruce. The tournament that was eagerly anticipated by students and staff, reached its climax as Team Bruce, against all odds, came out on top in a thrilling upset against Team PLK.
