Here at the home of the School Lane Charter School newspaper, you can find many diverse and unique subjects throughout our article pages. Our Story

Founded in 2023, The Lion's Den is a student-run newspaper by the students in faculty advisor, Ginnelle Sroka's, Communications Course. The site and its articles are written, created, and edited entirely by student writers, photographers, designers, and editors. The editorial staff currently consists of Zoey Pomroy (Editor-in-Chief, Director of Layout), Daniel Stahl (Editor-in-Chief, Assistant Director of Layout), Joshua Breneiser (Managing Editor) and Sara Vanderstine (Managing Editor).

Vision: The Lion's Den aims to provide an outlet for student voice, and a reliable, credible source of news and current events for School Lane. Our goal is to produce articles on subjects that our student body cares about, and become a source of balanced reporting in the community. We will be a forum for expression, through a mix of opinions, features, news, reviews, and criticism.

Our aim is to provide the most up-to-date reporting, while upholding high journalistic, ethical, and editorial standards. Though we are recently founded, our goal is to become a high-achieving and competitive school newspaper, which incorporates the core values of School Lane and the IB learner profile traits.
