School Rules and Policies
School Rules and Policies
By Gracie Nekoranik
This year at School Lane, some significant changes have been applied. We have a new schedule with A, B and C days; A and B day classes are 90 minutes while C day classes are 45 minutes. We also have new technology policies, at the beginning of each class we are required to put our phones in the phone parking lot and we aren't permitted wireless items such as Air Pods. In this video, there is the discussion of the changes in the school's system, mainly going through the new schedule and restrictions. Understanding the new policies may be difficult for some students, so we must be made aware of their impacts. As the School Lane Charter that we are, we are now made to adjust to our new school life.
For the interview, I wanted to ask some students at School Lane questions about the new schedule and policies. I interviewed Samirah King who’s in 11th grade and has been attending School Lane since 3rd grade. I asked her questions like how does she feel about the new schedule, and if she would rather go back to A or B days. Then I asked how she felt about the phone parking lot. Then I interviewed Makayla Postowski who is also in 11th grade and has been attending School Lane for only 1 year. I just asked her the same questions but I also asked her how School Lane is different from her old school. Then for my final interview, I asked Mrs.Kane how the 11th and 12th-grade counselor and been at School Lane for 8 years. With Mrs.Kane, I also asked her the same questions but I also asked her as a school what was something we could improve on. Now if you are interested to see what everyone had to say to the questions go click on the video and watch.
