Looking for a fun and delicious ramen recipe? I got one for you. I have found a great recipe on how to make the best shrimp ramen of all time and I guarantee you will enjoy this dish. This idea sparked when I first started to scroll on YouTube looking through videos and then I clicked on one. I was going to follow that tutorial in order to make the meal but I was not able to since I was missing some of the ingredients. I got the idea that I should make a recipe of my own and share it with everyone to be able to give it a try.
Ingredients for 1 portion:
1 packet of Ramen noodles
2 tablespoon of butter
10-15 shrimp
Salt
Pepper
Paprika (optional)
Bok Choy
First start by cutting off the bottom of the bok choy and clean the leaves you will be using in the soup. I took a small pot and filled it up halfway with water. I put it on low heat and put in the bok choy I wanted to use in the soup. I needed to keep it on low heat so that it can cook slower so that by the time you are almost done with the shrimp, teh bok choy finishes at the same time.
Next, take your shrimp and place it into a bowl. Mine were frozen so then I ran them under some hot water in order to defrost it. Once the shrimp was defrosted enough, I seasoned the shrimp in the bowl with salt and pepper. I flipped around the shrimp and repeated the process of putting seasoning. After this, I took off the tails of the shrimp so that this way it would be easier to eat when eating the complete meal.
For this recipe I used a white onion but a red onion would work the same. I cut up about less than a quarter of the onion and chopped it into small pieces. After this, I placed a pan onto low heat and added 1 tablespoon of butter that was broken into 2 different pieces. Once the butter was almost 80%-90% melted, I added in the shrimp and the onion at the same time. You want to let the shrimp slowly cook instead of putting it on high heat so that it will not burn. Sprinkle a little of paprika (this is optional)
Once the shrimp is completely pink and the onion is pretty translucent, this should indicate that your shrimp is cooked enough. You can take the shrimp into a separate bowl or cover the pan with the lid. The noodles should be about halfway done at this point so break up the noodles and add in the flavor packet that comes with your ramen. For this recipe, I recommended using chicken.
Once the ramen is fully cooked, put it into a bowl. Add the shrimp on top of the shrimp as well as the bok choy. You can add some extra butter on top for my flavor if you want to. You are now able to enjoy your complete dish!
In my opinion, I think it is definitely worth trying if you like ramen. It helps dress up your food as well as provide you with some kind of protein. As I was eating it, I realized that it wasn’t spicy enough for me, so next time I will be adding more paprika. There was a good balance of salt and pepper as well. This would be a great time to try the dish if you have the winter blues and want something to keep you warm.
