Lana Del Rey released her ninth studio album last March titled Did you know that there's a Tunnel Under Ocean Blvd, and it is quite the listening experience. If you think that the album is great, you should see Lana perform it live with acoustic vocals and playful visuals, alongside her iconic interludes and monologues.
Fans suspected a tour to be announced with the release of the new album and soon enough, it happened. Lana announced a 10-date tour scheduled for this fall, exclusively in amphitheaters. Before announcing her tour, it was already suspected, that there was a dead giveaway. A photo of Lana's father, Robert Grant was taken at what was rumored to be one of the singer's pop-up shops while he was wearing a laminate pass with Lana's picture on it. The picture was uploaded to Instagram and was reposted with the laminate edited out. The tour quickly sold out, per usual for Lana. The tour begins on September 14th in Franklin, TN, and ends in Charleston, West Virginia on October 5th.
If you are local, you can catch Lana’s show in Burgettstown, PA at The Pavilion located at Star Lake. You can catch this performance on the third of October at 8:00 pm, which lands on a Tuesday. Even though she is coming to PA this time around, tickets sold out almost instantly. If you didn't get the chance to buy a ticket from her official website, you could probably snag some from resellers on other websites such as StubHub and TicketSwap.
The actual album opens with her song, The Grants. The song introduces the album and sets the tone of love, and the idea of death while she talks about how much her family means to her. Song no.2 is the title track, displaying Lana's genius use of instrumentals. She uses piano and vocals to open the song and ease into the delicate sound of violins giving the emotional expectation for the rest of the album, setting the tone. Quickly after the album's release, it was a hit amongst long-time fans and others who had been introduced to Lana by the success of this album. It was so successful, that it went number one in the UK, taking fifth place for the most number-one albums in the UK for solo female artists. Her songs even went viral on TikTok, with originals “A&W” and “Peppers”.
On May 19th, 2023, Del Rey surprised fans with the release of a previously unreleased song, “Say yes to heaven”- a fan favorite. She released the song as a single after its major popularity on TikTok. The song was an outtake from the singer's 2014 album, Ultraviolence. The unexpected release of this song makes fans wonder what is next for Lana Del Rey. Will she release more leaked songs or is she focused on writing new material?
