The Twisted book series created by Ana Huang, a New York Times best selling author, gave me the desire to make this book review. This set of stories had gained lots of attention due to being shown a lot on TikTok. This series of books is a romance based on a group of friends. Each book switches to focus on another person within the friend group who falls in love with someone else that you read about in one of the previous books.
Book 1: The first in the trilogy talks about Ava Chen and her brother's friend, Alex Volkov, with a love that should never happen. But when it does happen, secrets from the past are revealed that could ruin them both.
When I read this book at first, I thought it was not going to stand up to all the hype. The amount of talk that this book drew made me believe it would be much overrated. Everyone had talked about it. But then I started to read it, and could not put the book down. I would be reading it in the middle of class if I had free time, and whenever I had nothing to do for school or work. I really enjoyed reading it. The book had so many things that were shocking and like, omg I didn't want it to stop!
Overall, I would rate this book a 10 out of 10 because I thought it was just that good. I would recommend this book to anyone who enjoys reading romance novels, but I must warn you, I’d only read it if you're over the age of 18 years old because of explicit content.
Book 2: In book two it talks about Princess Bridget and her bodyguard Rhys Larsen. Unexpected and forbidden, their love could destroy a kingdom…and doom them both. My advice would be to not become emotionally involved. But when her brother leaves the throne, she is faced with the sudden prospect of a loveless, politically arranged marriage and a throne she never wanted. This book had so many shocking events and things that will make you want to keep reading. When you first start reading you will think that it is boring, but really quick you will see how fast the book changes and becomes interesting.
Overall, I would rate this book a 10 out of 10 because it does a lot to keep the reader interested in the plot. I think that if someone came up to me and asked me about the book I would tell them how much I like it and how they should read it if they are into romance.
Book 3: In book 3 It talks about Jules Ambrose and Josh Chen. Jules is a former party girl who’s focused on passing the bar exam and the last thing she was expecting was getting involved with a doctor who puts the SUFFER in insufferable… no matter how good-looking he is.But the more she gets to know him the more she realizes there’s more than what meets the eye.
Overall, I just started reading the 3rd book out of this 4 book series and think it is ok, so far; but I do not know if I would say I recommend this book yet. I would say that it is a good book so far though.
