Upcoming Dates

Thank you, MYSTERY READERS!

It has been a pleasure this month to hear "MYSTERY READER, MYSTERY READER, COME ON IN" at our doors and throughout the hallways as our mystery readers knock three times and enter each classroom.  Please know how much this means to our students to have this quality time with our special guests.  We have even seen numerous students as mystery readers in other classrooms.  What we know for sure is that when mystery readers "COME ON IN" that it is SO MUCH FUN!  As we wrap up our reading month activities next week, we know the benefits of the literature experiences our students have engaged in this month will carry on far beyond the month of March!

March is Reading Month!

We are excited to celebrate READING!

Please check out our schoolwide Reading Month Calendar for events and activities to celebrate reading this month.  Your child's teacher may have other events planned as well.  They will communicate those via their regular means of communication.

We hope you join us in celebrating by finding ways to enjoy reading together at home too!

Welcome to SES!

Please join us in welcoming Kelsey Rice as our new Schoolcraft Elementary School Student Services Coordinator!  Megan Boynton was previously in this role and is now our SCS Student Mental Health Social Worker.  Kelsey comes to us after multiple years working in child welfare and brings a wide range of skills and experiences to this position.

Kelsey was born in Kalamazoo, MI, grew up in Rockford, MI, and attended college back in Kalamazoo where she met her husband, John.  They have three children and two cats.  In her free time, Kelsey enjoys reading, baking, taking naps, or soaking up the sun with her family.

She is excited about this new role and to use her knowledge of child trauma and at-risk youth the best serve our students and families.

Welcome to SES, Kelsey!
