"To Strive, To Strive, for honor and pride, and victory" - Schoolcraft Fight Song
Nearly 100 students completed their red, white, or blue Veteran Honor Form over the last couple weeks. This allowed each child, and their family, to talk about the family members in their lives that served our Country. It also provided an opportunity honor those individuals by displaying the forms for all to see.
We thank you for taking the time to do this project with your child. We, the staff at the Elementary School, also want to thank all the Veterans in and outside of our community for their dedication and service!
Thank you all!
Schoolcraft Elementary will be hosting its first Common Bond Event. Common Bond’s mission is to provide extra-curricular events where students with and without disabilities can develop friendships and have fun! The event is open to 3rd and 4th-grade students. It will be Wednesday, December 11, 2019 in the elementary gym from 3:15-4:45. A permission slip is coming home in your child’s folder and must be returned to attend.
Members from the American Heart Association will be present in this panel style presentation. Join us, and other parents, as we ask and learn about the dangers of vaping.
Where: Schoolcraft High School Performing Arts Center
When: Nov. 11th from 5:00 PM to 6:00 PM
For the past 3 years, your Elementary Team have personally donated between $700 and $1,000 annually that is spent entirely on gifts and clothes for students that attend Schoolcraft Elementary School for the Holidays. Last year, a family asked how they could help us achieve our goal. It was then that we shared an Amazon Wish List for the first time to allow families to donate a toy to our gift giving efforts. Together that year, we were able to do some pretty special things. For those interested in supporting the gift giving efforts of 2019/2020, please explore the following Amazon List Link:
For anyone needing assistance from our school this season, please reach out to Matt Webster (269-929-5301), the School office (269-488-7250), our Social Worker, Shelby Getsinger (269-615-0026), or your child's classroom teacher.
Upcoming Delayed Starts:
What are delayed starts and why does Schoolcraft have them?
Delayed starts allow our students to arrive for a 8:45 am start* which provides our teachers time to collaborate professionally to make informed instructional plans for every student in our building together. This is a powerful time for our staff that ensures that every student's instructional needs are being individually planned for by a group of dedicated Eagle Educators!
*Students can arrive as normal between 7:45-8:00 on delayed starts and participate in activities in the gymnasium OR can arrive "delayed" between 8:40-8:45 and still be considered on time (not tardy).
The Schoolcraft Community Schools annual food drive for the Eagles Nest is only 4 weeks away. Each school, including ours, will be collecting items during the week of December 9th. Please keep this charitable act in mind as December approaches. We look forward to stocking Eagles nest again this year! MORE TO COME.
