Homework:
All homework assignments in ELA and Social Studies are due the day after they are assigned unless otherwise noted by the teacher.
Assignments over the weekend/breaks are always due upon the return to school after the weekend/break unless otherwise noted by the teacher.
Tests:
Students will not receive test folders.
Students will be given back their tests after they are graded to look at and review. Tests will be recollected by the teacher.
If a student fails (69 or below), the test will be sent home and require a parent signature.
If you have a question regarding a test or would like to view it, please email and the test will be sent home with the student. They will need to return the test back to school for record purposes.
The following is the 6th grade correction policy for TESTS taken in ELA and Social Studies. The policy does not apply to open book/note tests or final exams.
Test corrections can be made on tests if a student receives a grade of 69 or below.
Students who complete corrections, can receive a maximum grade of 70.
If a student wishes to complete test corrections, it is their responsibility to come to the teacher and ask for them. They will receive directions on how the corrections should be completed and a due date for them.
If a student chooses not to complete test corrections or does not return them by the specified due date, the original grade will stand.

Discipline:
Discipline/Demerits notices are received if a student fails to follow classroom or school policy.
Discipline/Demerits Notice 1, 2 and 3
After acquiring 3 discipline notices the teacher will request a conference with the parent(s).
Discipline/Demerits Notice 4, 5, and 6
If following conference above, behaviors continue, the teacher will then initiate a conference with parent, teacher, and principal. The homeroom teacher will initiate the plans for the conference. At that time and behavior plan will be put in place moving forward.
Detentions
Detentions may be given during lunch or after-school. Lunch detentions will be mediated by the teacher who administers the detention. After 3 lunch detentions the student will be a candidate for after-school detention.
If a student receives 3 demerits, it will be an after-school detention.

Regulation white crew socks; no low cut or no-show
One set of same-colored sneakers (non-marking soles/heels/no flashing lights)
Hair Styles/Grooming
Student’s hair is to be neat and clean, and groomed conservatively. No extreme styles. No extensions, hair braids, or discoloring is permitted. STC hair bows, STC hair ties, and STC headbands are acceptable. A large distracting headband must be removed by the student, this especially goes for flowers. Make-up, nail polish, and tattoos (temporary or permanent) are not permitted.
Jewelry
Although jewelry is not a part of the school uniform, post earrings of a small and conservative style are permitted to be worn by the girls (one earring only in each ear). No hoop or dangling earrings at any time. Bracelets, ankle and wrist, pins and buttons are not a part of the school uniform. This includes all rope, yarn and beaded neck, wrist and ankle bands. A religious medal or cross on a chain is permitted.
