Form 4 Subject Choices 2023

Mandatory Subjects and Electives

Here are guidelines related to the choosing of subjects for Form 4:

MANDATORY SUBJECTS are:

Students entering Form 4 are required to choose ONLY FIVE (5) subjects from the list of options below. 

No SIXTH subject will be accepted. Any student desirous of doing more then the allotted subjects will have to do so externally through the Ministry of Education.

Form 3 students and their parents will be required to complete a Google Form  which can be accessed on the Choose Your Subjects page in the middle of Term 3

Parents will receive the allocated subjects at the end of Term 3.


Subject Allocation Criteria

The allocation of subjects is based on a number of factors, including:

- the student's academic performance from Form 1 till now.

- the number of spaces per subject

- teachers' encounters with the student's ability (for some subjects including Visual Arts, Music and Physical Education)

We are quite aware that students may want to choose subjects based on their future careers. The choosing of subjects at the CSEC level may be influenced by what is offered at the CAPE level and their prerequisites. 

We have also included included the subject groupings for scholarships as stipulated by the Ministry of Education.
