WEEK ONE
9/03/ Introductions
Welcome! We will introduce ourselves and do a bit of sewing and learn about various stitches.
Homework: Plan and design a personal sewing kit. Several patterns will be provided. Fill a sketchbook with swatches, ideas, etc. Intro and first assignment.
WEEK TWO
9/08/25 - There will be a demonstration and we will discuss the first assignment and second: Making your own traveling sewing kit and stitch book.
9/10/25 Demonstrations and work continues.
Homework: Collect fibers for natural dyeing demos. Start working on first stitches for stitch book: Running Stitch, Straight Stitch and Blanket Stitch
WEEK THREE
9/15/25 - First assignment due date has changed. We will work on this in class.
9/17/25 -Working day towards finishing first assignment. Revisit Buttonhole stitch and alternatives for finishing your personal travel stitch kit.
WEEK FOUR
9/22/25 - First assignment due if not finished on 09/17. Natural dying demo today: marigolds.
