I was born in the vibrant culture of the Dominican Republic, where I developed a deep appreciation for language and communication from an early age. My family later moved to the bustling streets of New York City, where I spent my formative teenage years, immersed in the rich diversity and energy of the city.
With a passion for education ignited by my own experiences, I embarked on my journey in teaching 13 years ago in Tooele County School District at Stansbury High School, and later joining Scholar Academy a bit more than a decade ago. As a dedicated educator, I find immense joy in introducing my students to the beauty of self-expression through language and the enchanting cultures of the countries where the language is spoken.
I hold a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communications from Brigham Young University-Idaho, with a specialization in Public Relations. My academic background has equipped me with valuable skills in effective communication and a nuanced understanding of how language shapes perceptions and interactions.
In my role as a teacher at Scholar Academy, I am committed to fostering an environment where creativity flourishes, and students are encouraged to explore new ideas and perspectives. I approach each day with enthusiasm, eager to embrace opportunities for learning and to inspire my students to do the same. With a warm demeanor and passion for education, I look forward to making a positive impact on the lives of my students, guiding them on their journey of discovery and growth.
In my free time (and sometimes in class time), I love to listen to music, read, dance, cook my favorite dishes, talk about traveling, hiking, and spending time with family.
