The RISE test is at the end of the year. This year you will be hearing more about RISE than in previous years. If your student is not talking about it then you should be asking them about it and having that conversation at home with them as it will something that we talk about nearly daily in class. We will be doing more preparation for our end of year state testing this year. State testing requirements are based off of Utah Education Network standards.

RISE will test a students DEPTH of
KNOWLEDGE (DoK) in math.
Understanding Depth of Knowledge
Getting a 1: students can solve basic problems and will
sometimes get the basic arithmetic answers correct.
Getting a 2: students can simplify answers and
sometimes apply real world scenarios.
Getting a 3: students will simplify and mostly always
apply multiple strategies to approach solving the problem.
Getting a 4: students almost always applies multiple real
world approaches to solving the problem and uses critical
thinking skills to solve the problem.
We will be taking multiple bench marks this year, and tracking scores. Parents will be signing and those benchmarks and helping students stay accountable for their benchmark scores and preparing for RISE.
