I’m doing Mountain Dew, for some reason (And a little history about Coke:)).
By: Lucas.C I did Mountain Dew cause i saw a can of it on Pratts desk...
Mountain Dew is a pretty refreshing drink, to some. I don’t know what it is made from and kinda don’t care, the only thing I know it has is corn syrup, like every other soda, not sure why that's the only thing i know. Mountain Dew was made in 1940, and it became popular fast, if I didn’t mention this blog is about history and about mountain dew itself. Mountain Dew was not an idea of one man but two, WOW, their names are Barney and Ally Hartman, Brothers? WOW, they came up with the idea in Tennessee (if anybody asked for any reason) and for some reason it was initially was going to be a mixer for whiskey using the term “Mountain Dew” as a nod for moonshine. The drink was later refined by Bill Jones of the Tip Corporation, which acquired the rights in 1964. The brand has later evolved into the soft drink we know today, with various flavors and marketing strategies, (little bit of source used from Bing.com).
What is it made from?
I know I said I didn’t really care about what it’s made from, but I'm doing it anyway. This is going to be a month full, but I understand why it’s considered the unhealthiest soda ever (it’s true). It’s made from… carbonated water (provides fizz and bubbles, big surprise), high fructose corn syrup (the main sweetener, already mentioned it), concentrated orange juice (that’s just made me lose my apatite), citric acid (contributes the flavor, cool), natural and artificial flavors (enhances the flavor), sodium benzoate (preserves freshness), caffeine (you know what it is) and yellow 5 (an artificial dye color, sounds like poison). My brain hurts.
What is the most popular soda?
I have absolutely nothing more to say about mountain dew, so we’re going to talk about the most popular soda (and it is NOT mountain dew). It’s coke! Coke is the most popular for a lot of reasons and it was made the longest ago, I’m talking about 1886. And I think it’s weird mostly from what it made from, if you can’t guess, it’s in the name. If you’re wondering where Mountain Dew is on the leader board, it’s like fourth, which is pretty decent for a soda that has frickin orange juice in it (paragraph two). I can’t talk about what was originally going to be because it’s not appropriate for school. And for some reason all sodas used to be from something that has to do with alcohol or other things like this one (which I can’t talk about). But it was an idea from a soldier from war (I think).
(Outro)That’s all you need to know about mountain dew, but it can be more complex, if I got you interested in soda interested in soda you can always research more! (if you’re curious about coke check it for yourself).
