LET'S GET STARTED!

Please review ALL INFORMATION on this site prior to meeting with the HR Team at your store to complete your benefits enrollment.

GENERAL ELIGIBILITY RULES

  • Full-time associates are eligible for all benefits starting the 1st of the month following 60 days of full-time service.

  • Mid-time associates are eligible for health insurance and HSA only starting the 1st of the month following 60 days of mid-time service.

2021 BENEFIT OPTIONS

  • High Deductible Health Plan (HDHP) paired with a Health Savings Account (HSA)

  • Dental Insurance

  • Short Term Disability Insurance

  • Long Term Disability Insurance

  • Accident Insurance

  • Employee Assistance Program (EAP) – available at no cost to you!

QUALIFYING LIFE EVENTS

Once you make your initial benefits elections, you can only change them during the year if you experience a qualifying event. Some examples of qualifying events include:

  • Marriage

  • Birth or adoption of a child

  • Divorce

  • Gain or loss of coverage under another plan (such as a spouse or parent's plan)

If you don't experience a qualifying event during the year, you will only be able to make changes to your benefit elections during the Open Enrollment period at the end of the year.

Open Enrollment typically starts early November and ends before Thanksgiving. Changes go into effect January 1st of the following year.

You can also view plan documents on the Resources tab at the top of this page, and on our BSwift benefits site. BSwift is the platform that houses all of Scheels' benefits information, including plan documents and Medicare information. Details about how to log into BSwift can be found at the bottom of this page.

HEALTH INSURANCE

Blue Cross/Blue Shield of North Dakota

WORKING SPOUSE PROVISION

Associate's spouses that are eligible for health care through their own employer are not eligible to enroll in Scheels health insurance plan.

TOBACCO FEES

Associates and/or spouses on Scheels health or dental plans who use tobacco are required to pay an additional fee.

The tobacco fee is $100.00 (medical) and $7.00 (dental) per associate and/or covered spouse per month.

Tobacco use includes, but is not limited to, cigarettes, cigars, pipe, chewing tobacco, and e-cigarettes.

NETRESULTS

  • Scheels health plan with BCBSND includes a prescription drug program called NetResults. This program is an add-on to our BCBSND Prime plan, with no additional costs to you.

  • This program helps Scheels to better manage our pharmacy and prescription medication costs, which means keeping our premiums low and more savings for you!

  • How will NetResults impact you?

          • Certain high cost/specialty medications are not covered by our plan. If you are currently prescribed one of these medications, you can work with BCBSND, your pharmacist, and/or your health care provider to discuss alternate options available.

WORKOUT COMPENSATION

Associates and their spouses covered under Scheels health plan are eligible to receive a monthly workout incentive upon meeting certain criteria.

Associates are eligible to receive a maximum incentive of $40 per month (or $80 per month if spouse qualifies).

Meet with the HR Team at your store to complete your enrollment.

If you plan to add any dependents (spouse or children) to your benefit plans, please be sure to have their date of birth and social security numbers available at your meeting.

During this meeting, enrollment will be completed online at Scheels.bswift.com. It is not necessary to log in to BSwift prior to your meeting unless you want to navigate the site.

Your login information will be as follows:

  • Username: The first initial of your first name, your last name, plus the mm/dd of your birth date (e.g. John Smith born April 7th = JSmith0407)

  • Password: The last four digits of your Social Security Number.
