Sprint 2
Sprint 2
The default Unreal character is replaced by a place holder model in order to test Unreal's PaperZD tech for sprites. Sprite sheets are used for character animation while still using the character mover class for coding.
PaperZD is used to animate an enemy AI and coded to chase the player through different terrain to test capabilities.
An inventory system manager was implemented to keep track of player collected resources, crafting to be developed later.
My group's game is focused around 2.5D perspective which involves using 2D sprites in a 3D world. This was testing how to implement that art style and proofing the look.
This video has the player zoo demonstrating the various aspects of the game idea with a bonus level.
