The Friends of Schalmont Libraries provides opportunities for our students that enhance their overall learning experience. This group partners with the elementary, middle, and high school library programs to provide additional supports for extended learning opportunities. Our group promotes literacy for all as well as the integration of S.T.E.A.M (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics) across disciplines.
The Friends of Schalmont Libraries has provided volunteers and financial support for author visits, Literacy Nights and individual teacher requests. The Friends have recently donated $200.00 per year to each of the Elementary, Middle School, and High School Libraries for items requested by the Librarians.
*FOSL is a booster organization created to foster community support and raise funds for extracurricular library/STEAM activities and is an entirely separate entity from the Schalmont School District it supports. (Ref: School Board Policy #1222)
