The education committee (CfESC) made the decision a while back that for a number of reasons, La Mare had to close. The Committee also made the decision that the model for education was 3, 11-16 schools and a separate 6th form. As the 6th form will no longer be at Les Varendes, there is now space for the La Mare students
You will have the same options as LBHS and SSHS. We are a partnership and therefore have the same curriculum offer.
By default, all groups (Forms and Subject Sets) will be a mixture of students from both schools.

Yes. The current plan is for Futures Meetings with parents and students to allow for a visit. In addition, Y9 & Y10 students from LMDC will visit the Les Varendes site during the summer term.
The central Education department are creating a revised transport plan that will be published before the summer break.
This will be a departmental decision. Some HoDs want smaller bottoms sets and therefore larger top sets. We also run intervention sessions in Core subjects with Learning mentors and we have a MITA system where learning mentors are attached to departments (Maths and English) to provide further support and work with small groups which changes the class sizes. The maximum set size across the partnership schools is 30.
No. But web-based versions of virtually all educational applications used in school are available for use at home.
