We welcome you to be part of one of the largest IGCSE communities in Zambia, currently we have about 150 students in years 9, 10 and 11. Each pupil is encouraged to follow their own path and develop as an individual.
In Years 9, 10 and 11 students follow the IGCSE curriculum culminating in examinations assessed by Cambridge International Assessment. Additional subjects are introduced here including: Accounting, Business Studies, Economics, Computer Science, Drama, Literature in English, Travel and Tourism, as well as five separate science subjects; Agriculture, Biology, Chemistry, Combined Science and Physics. Making the total number of subjects on offer 22. Students will typically take nine subjects at this stage in which English, Maths, French and Literature are compulsory.
At Baobab we believe in our students maintaining breadth and variety in their curriculum. In addition to the four compulsory subjects we expect students to take the following;
a minimum of one Science subject (Agriculture, Biology, Chemistry, Combined Science and Physics)
a minimum of one Business and Humanity based subject (Accounts, Business Studies, Economics, Geography, History and Travel & Tourism)
a minimum of one Creative based subject (Art & Design, Computer Science, Design & Technology, Drama, Food & Nutrition, ICT, Music and Physical Education)
We are proud of the provision we have at Baobab College for our IGCSE students and the foundation that it provides for those who choose to go onto study A Levels in our Senior College.
