Safeguarding Concern? Complete the contact us form and select 'Safeguarding' in the recipient box
Charities Week is a chance for students to have some fun and enjoy a variety of events in the run up to Christmas. The school rules and expectations of students remain in place.
If you have any safeguarding concerns please complete the contact us form linked at the top of this page.
If students have concerns during the school day they should contact the following staff:
Head of Year
Miss Smith (Pastoral Support Officer)
Mrs Whiteman (Welfare Officer & Deputy DSL)
Mr Barrett (Deputy Head & DSL)
The timings of the school day remain the same as for the rest of the year. The only exception to this is Wednesday 18th lunchtime which is extended to 13:00 and Friday 20th lunchtime which finishes at 13:05 (at which point students should register in their P4 lesson to be dismissed at 13:15).
Although there are a variety of events going on at breaktime and lunchtime, students need to remain in their lessons until they are dismissed at the appropriate time. Students must also arrive at their lessons on time.
Students and parents are reminded that students are not allowed to use their mobile phone devices whilst at school. Students should turn their mobile devices off when they arrive at school and leave them off until the end of the school day. Any student caught using their mobile device will have their device confiscated and be put into a SLT detention as per the school's behaviour policy. The only exception to this rule is Sixth Form students using their mobile devices in the designated Sixth Form spaces i.e. Silent Zone, Quiet Zone, and Sixth Form Cafe.
With many events going on it is inevitable that students will be more excited than usual. However, students are expected to continue to behave in accordance with the school's behaviour policy. Any students that are not able to control themselves or fall short of our behaviour expectations will be managed in line with the school's behaviour policy.
During Charities Week students will be allowed to bring money onto school site to take part in and enjoy the various activities going on.
Please bring cash - The Sixth Form charities team have one card machine to take card payments but it will only be based at Santa's Grotto.
All other activities will require students to use cash. Please make sure all cash is in a secure (preferably named) wallet or purse. We advise students to carry their wallet/purse in a secure pocket in their blazer or bag.
There is no need to bring large amounts of cash everyday. Kidnapping lessons is 50p per lesson, snacks & refreshments have varying costs, and the cost of other activities are advertised in the daily schedule.
The medical office will remain open throughout Charities Week should students feel unwell. Students with medical/dental appointments must sign out at student reception as normal.
If a student is unwell and not attending school then the attendance office (or Sixth Form office) must be informed each day the student is off as per the school's guidance on reporting absences.
