Binder and Assignment Notebook
The fifth graders will bring home their binders every night. In the first folder, there is a take home side (these papers stay home) and a homework side (these papers need returned). There are also folders for each subject. The students will write down their homework each night in the assignment notebook. If there is a smiley face under a subject, that means there was no homework given that day. Parents or guardians, please sign this notebook each night. This is also a great place for you to write a note to me if you need to let me know something. E-mail is another option for communicating with me...bollingere@sccslima.org

(These must be done for someone other than immediate family members...someone not living in your house. You will have one to do every quarter. A service is something you do out of the goodness of your heart, and you don't get paid for it. You do it because you want to make someone happy!)

Examples:
Make a card for someone in the nursing home, a sick person, or neighbor who needs cheering up.
Clean someone's car or room in the house for them.
Send a care package to someone. (College student or someone in the military) However, you have to earn the money to buy the things.
Clean your bedroom and donate items to someone or some place.
Make a fleece blanket for a new mother/baby/elderly/sick person.
Rake the leaves for someone. (Don't get paid)
Shovel snow for someone. (Don't get paid)
Walk someone's dog for them.
Go to the Humane Society and help out.
Babysit for someone without being paid.
Walk around your neighborhood and pick up all the trash! Fill a bag and make God's creation beautiful.
