Flexible Seating - Research shows giving students choices increases their engagement in their learning. The classroom has many seating options. Students get to choose the type that best works for them. Some weeks, they may just choose a regular seat. Flexible seating will be chosen on Thursdays and will stay that way for a week.

Brain Breaks/Recess - Having breaks throughout the day are very important. We will have a morning brain break (or two), a snack break and a recess outside after lunch. 

Lunch - The third grade will be eating from 11:40 - 12:10. 

On the back of the red folder will be the weekly newsletter for additional information about what we are doing in the classroom.

Third grade is the first year your child will receive letter grades. The grading scale which will be used in third grade is on the left. 

Your child's graded assignments will be sent home daily in the red folder. 

You can check your child's grades using Progressbook. You will need an access code to create an account or add your third grader to your existing account. The access code will be sent home when school has begun.
