Hi! I'm Mrs. Dong!

I will be your 5th grade teacher for this 2023-2024 school year! This will be my eighth year of teaching, I previously taught Kindergarten and this will now be my sixth year of teaching 5th grade. I went to the University of the Pacific, in Stockton, CA for my undergraduate and masters program. I have a BA in Liberal Studies and a Masters in Educational Leadership. 

I grew up in San Jose, CA, and moved to Santa Cruz from living in Lodi, CA the past seven years. I have a wonderful husband named Ryan , a miniature dachshund named Gretchen and a mixed dog named Kona. I love to spend my time outside hiking, skiing, and swimming.  I love to read and try to read all different genres. My favorite genre would definitely be Mystery or Thrillers! You can usually find me after school at my CrossFit gym. 

¡Yo seré su maestra de 5to grado para este año escolar 2023-2024! Este será mi octavo año de enseñanza, anteriormente enseñé Kindergarten y este será mi sexto año de enseñanza de 5to grado. Fui a la Universidad del Pacífico, en Stockton, CA para mi programa de pregrado y maestría. Tengo una licenciatura en Estudios Liberales y una Maestría en Liderazgo Educativo. 

Crecí en San José, CA, y se trasladó a Santa Cruz de vivir en Lodi, CA los últimos siete años. Tengo un marido maravilloso llamado Ryan , un perro salchicha miniatura llamado Gretchen y un perro mixto llamado Kona. Me encanta pasar mi tiempo fuera de senderismo, esquí y natación.  Me encanta leer y trato de leer todos los géneros diferentes. Mi género favorito es sin duda el misterio y el thriller. Por lo general me puedes encontrar después de la escuela en mi gimnasio CrossFit.
