Charles Ellis Montessori Academy Mission Statement

Our mission is for all students in each developmental level to participate meaningfully in the comprehensive school counseling program, which supports and thus helps flourish students’ academic, career, and social/emotional learning. 


Programs designed will be driven by the unique ethnic, cultural, and economic diversity of the entire student population with the goal of removing barriers to student learning and encouraging achievement at the highest level for each student. Through a partnership with students, educators, parents, and the community, the School Counseling Department will prepare students academically and socially to be productive members and leaders of society.

Savannah-Chatham County Public School Counselors will uphold the tenets of the ethical standards prescribed by the American School Counselor Association (adopted 1984; revised 1992, 1998, 2004 and 2010, 2016). Our responsibility as School Counselors is to:

Even during a virtual learning experience, SCCPSS School Counselors recognize and will continue to follow all legal and ethical guidelines for confidentiality. However, students and parents should be aware that virtual counseling sessions may pose potential limitations based on the electronic communication platforms available to both the student and counselor. To minimize these limitations, SCCPSS School Counselors will continue to utilize district approved technology resources such as Teams and Office 365 applications to provide services for students.
