Dee Hankins is a dynamic resilience speaker whose powerful story of overcoming adversity captivates and inspires audiences nationwide. Growing up in foster care and navigating over a dozen home placements, Dee faced significant challenges early in life. Despite these obstacles, he went on to earn a degree in Criminal Justice from California State University, Long Beach and discovered his passion for motivating others. Today, Dee uses humor, storytelling, and lived experience to connect with youth and educators, encouraging them to embrace their struggles, find their purpose, and build resilience. Through his keynotes, the At-Best program, and his EnterCHANGEment initiative, Dee delivers impactful, actionable messages that leave a lasting impression. His motto “Resilience is everything” drives his mission to help individuals turn life’s curveballs into home runs.
Doug Fisher, Ph.D. is a professor and chair of educational leadership at San Diego State University. Doug is a credentialed teacher and administrator in California. He has published over 250 books, chapters, and articles focused on school improvement and was elected into the Reading Hall of Fame in 2022.
Nancy Frey, Ph.D. is a professor of literacy in educational leadership at San Diego State University. She also teachers at Health Sciences High and Middle College, an award-winning open-enrollment public school she cofounded with Ian Pumpian and Doug Fisher.
Nicki Newton, Ed.M., Ed.D., is a K–8 math education consultant, author, and curriculum developer for McGraw Hill’s Reveal Math series. She has taught at all levels, researched education internationally, and written multiple books, most recently on accelerating math and high-dosage tutoring. Her work inspires effective, equitable math instruction.
