The California Collaborative for Learning Acceleration (CCLA) Summit is a dynamic, inclusive event for educators dedicated to reimagining classroom instruction. JIMMY CASAS
Jimmy Casas has been an educator for over 30 years, serving twenty-two years as a school leader. Under his leadership, his school was named one of the Best High Schools in the country three times by Newsweek and US News & World Report.
Jimmy was named the 2012 Iowa Secondary Principal of the Year and was selected as runner-up NASSP 2013 National Secondary Principal of the Year. In 2014, Jimmy was invited to the White House to speak on the Future Ready Schools pledge. Jimmy is also the author of eleven books, including the Washington Post’s best- selling book CULTURIZE: Every Student. Every Day. Whatever It Takes, which has sold over 350,000 copies to date. His latest release, The Drip Effect: Breaking Free From Hustle Culture, is available now on Amazon.
Jimmy is the owner and CEO of J Casas & Associates, where he and his team serve as professional leadership coaches for school and district leaders across the country. In January 2020, Jimmy launched ConnectEDD, a publishing company aimed at giving back to the profession by supporting educators to become published authors.

NANCY FREY
Douglas Fisher, Ph.D., is professor and chair of educational leadership at San Diego State University. Doug is a credentialed teacher and administrator in California. He has published over 250 books, chapters, and articles focused on school improvement and was elected into the Reading Hall of Fame in 2022.
Nancy Frey, Ph.D., is a professor of literacy in educational leadership at San Diego State University. She also teaches at Health Sciences High and Middle College, an award-winning open-enrollment public school she cofounded with Ian Pumpian and Doug Fisher.

Nicki Newton, Ed.M., Ed.D., is a K–8 math education consultant, author, and curriculum developer for McGraw Hill’s Reveal Math series. She has taught at all levels, researched education internationally, and written multiple books, most recently on accelerating math and high-dosage tutoring. Her work inspires effective, equitable math instruction.
Ken Shelton is an award-winning educator, best-selling author, and thought leader with more than 20 years of experience in education. His expertise includes educational technology, leadership, equity, and artificial intelligence. He advises schools and organizations on responsible and equitable AI practices and is co-author of The Promises and Perils of AI in Education: Ethics and Equity Have Entered the Chat.
