Meet the Director

Mr. Sean Conway

2021-2022 marks year five for me as Director of Bands at St. Croix Central High School. As director, I am responsible for all instrumental ensembles at SCC including the Symphonic & Concert Bands, Jazz Band, Pep & Marching Bands, and the Musical Pit Orchestra. I also help coordinate individual or small group band lessons and teach beginning music theory.

Outside of school, I'm a trumpet technician for the Pacific Crest Drum and Bugle Corps based in Diamond Bar, CA. Previously, I worked for six years as a trumpet technician for the Madison Scouts Drum and Bugle Corps after marching there from 2009 to 2012. I also taught for two years as an assistant director at Waukesha North High School and Butler Middle School in Waukesha, WI.

I am originally from Rosemount, MN and I earned my bachelor’s degree in Instrumental Music Education from the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire. When I was there I performed with the university’s Wind Symphony, Concert Choir, Symphony Orchestra, and served as drum major for the Blugold Marching Band. I've also my Master's Degree in Music Education from Ohio University. I currently live in Baldwin, WI with my wife Sarah and daughter Evelyn.
