Northwood Tech takes Driver Education very seriously. Our goal is to provide a thorough training program for our students while meeting or exceeding all State requirements. We aim to produce well-prepared, responsible new drivers within your community. We want your student to feel confident upon completion of our program.
In Person Classroom Theory
All classes will be held at the SCC High School. The Theory class is 30 hours. Students must be at least 15 years old to take the Theory class. Cost of the Theory class will be approximately $110 (fees are set by the Wisconsin Technical College Board in April).

The online driver education course is for Wisconsin residents only who are age 15 and older. This course is offered through Northwood Tech's Blackboard online learning environment. Instructions for accessing Blackboard will be sent via email after registration is complete.
Students under the age of 17 must register for the online course by calling the Northwood Tech Driver Education office at 715.234.7082, ext. 5777. Students 17-18 years old can either register via phone or through the online driver's education class link found on the Northwood Tech website:

Behind-the-Wheel (BTW)
Behind-the-Wheel students will be picked up at the SCC High School. BTW consists of 6 hours of driving and 6 hours of observation. Students must be at least 15 1/2 years of age to be eligible for BTW. They must also complete the Theory class and obtain their instructional permit by the first day they are scheduled to drive. Cost of BTW is $240 (fees subject to change).
