The State of Iowa governs the educational programs of public schools, which are identified in Chapter 12, General Accreditation Standards, Iowa Administrative Code, School Rules of Iowa. Plus, we've got the Common Core State Standards for English Language Arts and Math, and the Iowa Core, which dives into even more areas like Science, Social Studies, and 21st Century Learning Skills (think tech, literacy, finances, health, citizenship, and job skills).
