On Biofilms
Few of us have founded the India Biofilm Society (yet to formally register) to propagate Biofilm in research & curriculum in India.
Few active biofilm societies/organizations abroad are: NBIC, UK; SCELSE, Singapore; CBE, Montana; CBC, Copenhagen
Superb article (click here) (by Prof. H-C Flemming & Prof. Stefan Wuertz) on the staggering numbers of bacteria on earth and predominance of Biofilm in nature.
For Individual-based modeling of Biofilms, check iDynoMiCS by Kreft Lab
For Confocal image analysis of Biofilms, these softwares are useful - COMSTAT (Classical), BiofilmQ (I've not yet used it, but sounds promising), Daime (nice to analyze FISH images, particularly I like its spatial analysis)
On Antimicrobial Awareness: Check these resources in WHO and ICMR
On general Research
A very nice resource for people in research Ten Simple Rules (PLoS Comput Biol)
