Daily Snack
Students may bring in a small, healthy snack daily. Having a snack in the middle of the morning will help keep blood sugar levels more stable, avoiding the highs and lows of the day, resulting in more stable behavior. Students will be given time to eat their snack, around 10:00, but it will be a working snack time, as students will be expected to continue with their work.
Acceptable snacks include: fruit, vegetables, crackers, cheese, yogurt, pretzels, etc. Please do not send chips, candy, cookies, or other “sweets” as students will not be permitted to eat those in the room.
Unflavored water is still the only acceptable daily drink in the classroom. Snacks cannot be shared with other students, as food allergies may be present.
