SCASDReads is an annual State College Area School District Libraries K-12 Initiative to promote lifelong literacy, critical thinking, and positive student behaviors both within the school and the wider community. SCASDReads is in its sixth year. Previous years' themes have included SCASDReads and Hikes the Appalachian Trail (2021), SCASDReads: You Matter! (2022), SCASDReads for the Planet (2023), SCASDReads Aloud! (2024) and SCASDReads Animal Adventures (2025).
