Dear Families,

Welcome to the Little Lions Playroom, a unique, hands-on learning experience within the Career and Technical Center (CTC) at State College Area High School! Our program provides an enriching, play-based curriculum where your child will learn and grow alongside high school students studying Early Childhood Education. These dedicated students, who aspire to work with children, will volunteer their time to plan and implement engaging, developmentally appropriate activities.

Program Details:

• Schedule: Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, Arrival at 9:00 AM

• Class Size: 12-15 children

• Cost: Free

Daily Activities Include:

✔ Circle Time
✔ Free Play
✔ Small & Large Group Activities
✔ Music, Movement & Art
✔ Snack/Lunch (brought from home)
✔ Quiet/Storytime

Dismissal Information:

• Children who enter the Playroom at age 3 at the beginning of the school year will be dismissed at 11:35 AM. Later in the spring, they will transition to a longer schedule.

• Children aged 4 and 5 will be dismissed at 1:15 PM.

Eligibility Requirements:

• Children must be 3 years old by September 1st

• Must be fully potty trained

• Families must commit to regular attendance, as space is limited

Our program runs from mid-September through the end of May, following the State College School District calendar, including holidays and snow days.

How to Apply:

If you’re interested in enrolling your child, please complete the Google Form or request a paper application. Enrollment is first come, first served, and space is limited. If the program is full, we will place your child on a waitlist. Submitting an application does not guarantee enrollment.
