Ms. Tamara Barbour
Hello Huskies!
I am honored and excited to be your Physical Education teacher this school year!
My name is Ms. Barbour and I have been teaching Health and Physical Education for 15 years. I have taught all levels (K-12) and even led interscholastic athletic and physical education programs for 6 years. I truly value movement as an essential part of life and experiencing life to the fullest. I believe health is our greatest gift. I am honored to have the opportunity to teach you about your health and how to maintain it through physical movement and activity!
When I am not teaching, I am planning new fun adventures and activities we get to experience inside and outside the gymnasium. My personal hobbies include playing with my 90lb Labrador Retriever, (Dallas); teaching fitness classes to kids and adults of all ages; exercising my own body and mind; and most of all spending quality time with my husband.
In my class, you can expect to be moving…a lot! You can also expect to work together and learn how to (safely and properly) perform many different skills using many different types of equipment. We will play a lot of games together and critically think about how our movement impacts our mental, physical, social and emotional wellbeing.
I hope you are ready for a fun year in Physical Education! I absolutely cannot wait to meet you!
Sincerely,
Ms. Barbour
