General Information

Emergency Binder is in the top left desk drawer
Seating charts are in white binder in brown cubby next to SmartBoard but students should know their spots.
Students should not touch any instruments in the room unless it is indicated in the sub plans.
Emergency "everything has gone wrong and I don't know what to do:" Google Chrome Music Lab or Incredibox.com and let kids play around as a class. Please only do this as a last resort!

UKULELE Practice - Take turns reading first

Please make a line to collect the ukuleles.
Do NOT touch the tuning pegs (if you have one that sounds off, grab a new one)
Do not aggressively pluck the strings as they can snap
DO NOT play when the teacher is speaking. You get one warning before they may take it away.

1. Play Closet (Music) Key!

1. Students know how to play this game.

2. Sitting in a circle, one student is selected to sit in the middle.

3. Another student is selected to "hide the key" (Key is located in small red bin on bookcase next to puppet tree).

4. Once the key has been given to the starting person, everyone starts singing while the person in the middle keeps their eyes closed.

5. After singing "help me find the closet key" two times in a row, the last person holding the key stops passing it and everyone closes their hands.

6. The person in the middle has 3 guesses to figure out who has the key.

7. The person in the middle turns into the one who "hides the key" and the person who had the key becomes the guesser in the middle.

Write Group Haiku

We are also going to write group haiku. I have assigned groups below. ALL group members must complete their individual Haiku before the group can start their own worksheet (use blank copies that are identical to individual haiku). If you any are waiting for a team member, they can play "Omochio Tsukimasho" while waiting.

Groups are outlined on the blank worksheets.

GROUPS SHOULD WRITE THEIR HAIKU ON THE FRONT
Then, they can write their haiku again on the back, after agreeing to how they will speak it rhythmically
