Advanced Piano Coaching

Advanced Piano Coaching is a course designed for experienced pianists who study privately and wish to receive supplemental instruction. Our studies will include piano literature from the Baroque through the 21st-century eras with emphasis on standard-repertoire composers as well as under-represented composers. The course will also include explorations in form and analysis, scales and modes, the history of the piano, the craft of piano playing, pianistic body mapping (awareness, balance, and movement), the pianistic self-image, and perspectives of the collaborative pianist.  Supplemental master class sessions with guest teachers will also be enjoyed on our journey.

In celebration of their studies and accomplishments, students will participate in two piano recitals on January 9th and May 21st at 7:00pm in the SHS Music Tower.
