August 2025
Welcome to Fourth Grade, 4D Students!
Summer vacation is a great time for both students and teachers to relax, explore, and have new adventures that provide different learning experiences! I enjoyed spending time outdoors, kayaking, doing some woodworking projects, reading, exploring Maine, and spending time with friends and family. I look forward to meeting you and hearing about all of your adventures! This year promises to be full of exciting projects, experiences, and lessons that allow us to share in the joy of learning.
Before school starts, I will be going into our classroom to set up our desks and organize the materials we will need for our first exciting units of study. What do you need to do before school? If you haven't ordered supplies through the PTA, please take a look at the Fourth Grade 2025–2026 supply List and bring in a few supplies each day of that first week of school. No need to carry everything to school on the first day!
In addition to the supplies on the list, all fourth grade students are being asked to bring in headphones that are compatible with their school-assigned Chromebook. Please be aware that the headphones you bring will be kept in your individual cart for personal use. Not sure what to get? Here is a link to a 2019 blog post Mr. Casal wrote on the subject. And here is a link to another headset that Mr. Casal recommends.Headphones are due in class by Tuesday, September 9th.
I look forward to getting to know each of you and building our class community together. Our first day of school will be on Tuesday, September 2nd. This will be a full day of school, so please bring in a morning snack and your lunch. Until then, relax and enjoy the rest of your summer vacation!
Your Fourth Grade Teacher,
