My name is Natalie Lau and I completed my Master of Information at Rutgers SC&I in May 2023. I completed my undergraduate degree from Rutgers in May 2021 in evolutionary anthropology. I completed minors in sociology and archaeology as well as completing the public history certificate, with my public history internship being with the New Jersey Digital Newspapers Project under Rutgers' Special Collections and University Archives.
My concentration for the MI degree program was in library and information science (LIS). I hope to use the MI degree to work in academic librarianship or academic special collections. I am also hoping to possibly leverage the degree to shift to museum or archival spaces as well.
I am currently a Library Collections Specialist IV at Princeton University Library. I am responsible for the Microforms Service. While I conduct direct support and education to patrons such as faculty, students, staff, and external researchers, I also act as patron-supporting backup for other service points such as the Access Desk and Information Desk. In addition, I undertake digitization projects that are selector driven, institutionally driven, and patron driven.
