Prior to being diagnosed with cancer in July of 2024, I was an otherwise thriving 21 year-old that had quite the summer ahead of me. I had made it through the semester and was now about to enjoy all the perks of being an upperclassman. I had an internship lined up with the New Jersey Communication & Cybersecurity Integration Cell, and was set to start that directly after my life-changing two week trip to Israel on Birthright.
It all took a turn for the worse after having to be hospitalized three weeks into my internship due to major swelling around my eye. After going to multiple doctors, no one could figure out what the issue is. This is usually not a good sign. Embarking on the lengthy diagnosing process, a tumor was found in my left orbit, right behind the eye. I was thrusted onto an entire different journey that I never thought would be possible, never considered. As I come to the end of my cancer journey, this blog serves as a source of information for those who are starting their journey's or just simply have inherent curiosity about the topic. Enjoy the read!
During cancer treatment, I attended a Tony Robbins event for which I walked on a bed of hot coals. I used Tony's mantra's to push myself to do one of the most difficult things I have done.
The thing that I am most proud of myself for is being able to stay calm, cool, collected, and most importantly keep my head up during these very difficult times. Looking back, I am very proud of myself for pulling through.
My main goal right now is to get a clear scan and overcome this part of my life once and for all. This should happen in around a month if all goes according to plan. I am truly ecstatic for whatever the next chapters of my life end up being.
