This course is designed for upperclassmen to go into further depth on several topics discussed in Health Education and provide students with practical, real-world health and life skills essential for successfully navigating adulthood. The focus will be on mental, social, physical and financial health related competencies. Through a mix of hands-on activities, interactive lectures, and real-world scenarios, students will develop the knowledge and skills to confidently manage their health and responsibilities as they transition into adulthood.

Expectations: Students are expected to be prepared with all materials. Projects as well as formative and summative assessments are used.
Chamber Singers is a year-long vocal music class open to advanced singers following a successful audition in the spring of the year prior to enrollment. Students can expect to further refine their vocal technique and music literacy skills. This course explores choral music from a wide variety of cultures and time periods through study and performance. Regular outside practice is expected; participation in dress rehearsals and concert performances is required. As this is the most advanced choral ensemble at SHS, students should anticipate a significant performance schedule.

Foundations of STEM is designed for students with an interest in Technology and Engineering fields but are coming to high school with limited and/or interrupted educational backgrounds and may not have skills or foundational understandings required to successfully navigate other introductory STEM courses (Intro to Robotics, Intro to Engineering, etc.) Students will have the opportunity to do hands-on projects to explore these concepts. Students will showcase their learning utilizing different forms of technology.

Expectations: Students are expected to build a working robot, and then learn coding to automate the robot to meet specific skills and challenges.
