"Getting it Done Now and For the Next Fifty"

In Loving Dedication to a Friend & Colleague

Don Wilson

The Maine Interscholastic Athletic Administrators Association lost a friend on September 28 with the passing of Don Wilson. Don served for over two decades as the athletic director at Biddeford High School. A graduate of St. Louis High School , Southern Maine Vocational Technical Institute, and the University of Southern Maine, “Willie” was a truly authentic person who lived his life with energy and enthusiasm. He was friendly, kind, generous, and personable to anyone whom he had ever met.

After serving as a teacher and football coach at Biddeford, he began his career as the Tiger athletic director in 1984 and served both the Southwestern Maine Activities Association and the MIAAA with distinction. He was the epitome of “Tiger Pride” and represented his school and community with distinction throughout his storied career. Don was the recipient of the MIAAA Robert Lahey Athletic Administrator of the Year Award in 2004 and an NFHS Citation in 2006. He was a fixture at the Maine Principals’ Association Super Saturday Football Championships as a member of the field game day staff. A past president of the MIAAA, he split time between his homes in Maine and The Villages, Florida during his retirement.
