at South Brunswick High School
Dear Readers,
Welcome to Summer!
Summer is my favorite time to enjoy a great book! Since the school year is so busy, summer allows me the time to discover new authors, titles, and topics. It is my goal as your librarian to inspire you to read by sharing the authors that I appreciate to help you to pick a book for your summer reading assignment.
Here are the assignment details:
Students who are scheduled for English I or Academic English I, II, III, IV, or Honors English I, II, III, IV are required to read at least one book of their choice and return to school ready to participate in a discussion-based activity in their English classes during the first week of school. Students scheduled for AP English III, AP English IV, and College Composition will be required to complete specific reading and writing assignments.
For more information on how summer reading will be incorporated into our ELA classrooms in September, read this letter from Mr. Daniel Brack, Supervisor of English.
Summer Reading Bookmark - Students can use this bookmark to gather quotes to help them to recall and reflect on their summer reading in the fall.
Are you wondering what books our teachers would recommend? Click on the links to discover what titles the English teachers and the Librarians have enjoyed.

Supervisor of English
To support our readers, this site will offer book recommendations and activities to keep our students reading 24/7 all summer long. Please remember that many of our recommended titles are available as ebooks and audio books via MackinVIA. Watch this tutorial for specifics on how to add the MackinVIA app to your smartphone, in addition to general browsing instructions. Happy Reading!
Sincerely,
Mrs. Manganello and Mrs. Hanusosky
