- A well-stocked selection of books (visit the library and take home a pile of new choices)
- A comfortable spot (a favorite chair, a cozy corner in your room, a sunny spot outside on a warm day)
- Good lighting
- A warm (or cold) drink to keep you hydrated as you peruse the pages
- A bookmark to hold your spot
