To better understand what you are reading, here are some tips to help focus on reading a play. The goal is to immerse yourself into the play:

1. Read through each Act in one sitting, if possible

2. Read from a physical copy

3. Read it aloud

4. Put away all distractions (computers, TVs, phones, etc.)

5. Notepad nearby to jot down questions (include page #)

6. Check out production photos

7. Look up/identify actors to help visualize

8. Keep character list handy throughout reading
