Application and Tryout information: 

Science Olympiad takes around 13 new participants every year from both Crossroads North and Crossroads South. If you are interested in applying for Science Olympiad, complete the following:

1. Make sure you have read the important details below about Science Olympiad

2. Download and fill out the application and essay by clicking here. Type or print your responses to the application and type up your essay. Print them out, staple them together and hand them in when you show up for your test on OCTOBER 24TH for South Students or OCTOBER 25th for North Students.

3. Attend the administration of the Science Olympiad Test on OCTOBER 24TH for South Students or OCTOBER 25th for North Students. It will take place in the Crossroads South Cafeteria at 3:30pm and you will have until 4:45 to finish the test. 

Important Details

Applications and Essays:

•  All applications and essays should be handed in when you attend the test on the date provided above, in the SOUTH Cafeteria after school.

•  No Late or incomplete applications will be accepted; no exceptions.

•  A complete application includes: Application and essay. 

• The advisor will also use teacher feedback, tryout test score, and other academic achievements to select students.

Timeframe:

•  Science Olympiad runs from November to March, with after-school check-in meetings once every 2-3 weeks (Not to conflict with other science clubs)

Expectations:

•  Teamwork and collaboration is a must for this club.  Students will be preparing to compete in specific events according to the Science Olympiad guidelines.

•  There is an expectation of independent work and preparation outside of the scheduled meetings. 

•       Attendance is mandatory for all competitions: Regional level competition is usually in January and if applicable, the State competition is usually in March.

Fees:

• There is the standard $75 Pay to Participate fee for this club.   

• Some events will require team member to pay extra for supplies for their event

• Please note that these fees are not paid until you are accepted into the club
