CROSSROADS SCIENCE OLYMPIAD

Overview of Science Olympiad

Science Olympiad is a science enrichment-based club offered to 7th and 8th graders at Crossroads Middle School.  The club has a capacity of 15 members; therefore an application process is in place.  The Science Olympiad Team is highly competitive and it takes a great deal of personal commitment, maturity and responsibility.

Each member of the team will be assigned 2-3 science based events.  For each event a member will be paired with one other person. The pair will have around two months to prepare or their events and then compete in the regional (January) and state (March) tournament. Preparation involves research, studying, planning and/or building. We will hold approximately 4-6 meetings prior to competition day.  The majority of your work is done on your time and schedule, with your assigned event partner/s.
