The counseling department at Crossroads North Middle School recognizes how critical social-emotional learning is during adolescence. We have created and deliver an exceptional counseling program with this belief in mind.
Our counseling program includes:
individual counseling on an as needed basis
conflict resolution/mediation support
short-term counseling groups on various targeted topics such as friendship/social skills, divorce, anger and stress management, bereavement, executive functioning
crisis/risk assessments as needed
community referrals as needed
general education academic intervention management (ie. 504 plans, SST action plans)
classroom lessons on HIB and sexual harassment
career education classroom lessons
support for new students
transition support for incoming 6th graders and outgoing 8th graders
support for the LGBTQ+ community
mental health and wellness awareness including our annual Mental Health Fair and suicide prevention programming
programming for the Week of Respect and School Violence Awareness Week
ongoing communication and collaboration with teachers, parents and administration
support for students with behavioral needs
anti-bullying initiatives
