A Look at Our Learning

Reader's Workshop –

• We’ve been exploring how to find the "just right"

• Students have discovered their favorite reading spots around the classroom.

• We’ve started recording our reading progress in our reading logs.

• We’ve also established routines and expectations for our word study.

• We learned to treat books with great care and read them like they were “gold”.

Writing-Unit 1 Personal Narrative:

• Our writing notebooks are now decorated, and the pictures will spark a memory.

• We’ve discussed the dos and don’ts of effective notebook use.

• We’re using a third-grade mentor diary as a reference for our writing.

• We have been collecting ideas to write about

Math- Investigations Unit 1 Understanding Equal Groups:

• We’re getting to know ourselves as mathematicians through guided discovery.

• We’ve enjoyed playing math games during our morning meetings.

• We’ve begun learning how to write multiplication equations.

Social Studies:

• We have kicked off our first unit on Migration & Movement.

• We’re exploring why people move to the US and examining various push and pull factors.

• What book are you reading during your reading time?

• Tell me about some ideas you have jotted down in your writing journal.
