Silver Linings

District Art Contest

In order to celebrate this year’s theme, we are launching an art contest. One winner will be selected from each school and the winner’s artwork will be displayed on the district homepage. If you would like to participate, please create a work of art around the following theme.

South Brunswick Reads Silver Linings

This year, we ask our community to look for a personal bright spot as we read for ‘Silver Linings’, proving that, while we are forced to physically stay apart, our community can stay strong by sharing the silver linings we find inside great books.

Together we will:

  • share books with characters who face challenges with grit and determination.

  • explore new worlds beyond our current limits.

  • inspire readers to immerse themselves in a great book.

Contest guidelines:

  • All mediums and styles can be submitted.

  • Winners will be chosen by a panel of art teachers and librarians.

  • Each school will select a winner by grade level, as well as a grand prize winner to represent the school.

To enter:

  • Submit a photograph of your completed work as a jpeg.

  • All submissions should be made through links provided here.

  • Photographs should be taken horizontally, to allow for the best representation on the district website.

  • Entries must be submitted by March 5, 2021.

Please contact your school librarian with questions about SB Reads or the virtual art contest guidelines.
