How should graduates dress?
Students are required to dress appropriately underneath their graduation gowns. Jeans, shorts, sneakers and flip-flops are not acceptable attire.
Shoes should be carefully chosen as there are steep stairs to walk up and down during the ceremony.
Any person who is dressed inappropriately will not be allowed to participate.
Gowns must be fully zipped at all times.
Can graduates decorate their graduation cap?
Yes! Students will be allowed to tastefully decorate their caps.
If caps are decorated inappropriately students will be told to remove them and will be provided with a blank cap.
Here is a great option for graduation cap headbands that can be placed inside your cap to make sure it stays on and accommodates different hairstyles, hair types, and other headwear needs! SBHS does not sponsor or endorse this specific brand or website: https://gradcapremix.com/
If you would like to begin decorating your cap before you receive it, you can use a 9.25'' x 9.25''piece of cardstock paper with a .75'' hole cut in the center. You can then attach the paper to your cap using heavy-duty double-sided tape or foam.
Remember the part that goes on your head has a front and a back. The elastic goes in the back, and the pointed part goes in the front. Keep this in mind when attaching your image.
