This page has detailed instructions for teachers on how to submit their students' videos and permission slips.
Upon registration, teachers will be given access to a Google Drive folder in which they can upload students' permission slips and video recordings of their performances. The folders will open following a teacher's registration and close on Thursday, May 1 at 3 p.m. No submissions will be accepted after this time.
Teachers and students may choose to record the video in a manner that best works for them. Previous participants have used FlipGrid, ScreenCastify, and other means to show their stuff. Students: Please remember to state your name in the target language before you start recording.
Once recorded, teachers are responsible for ensuring students' videos and permission slips are correctly uploaded to their Google Drive folder. Teachers will only have access to their folder and to their students' work. Students will not be given access to the folder.
After May 1, judges, teachers and contest organizers will view the recordings. Videos will be evaluated according to THIS RUBRIC PUT HERE and winners will be celebrated at the Vermont State House later this spring.
We recommend that teachers and students review the RUBRIC used by the judges. Poetry Outloud has also compiled this list of tips for their English-language contest, which may be interesting to explore as well.
